AI may be smart but here are three ways you can be smarter:
1. Remember that AI can make mistakes.
- Do not rely completely on AI for information – just use it as an additional tool!
- Check out anything that doesn’t make sense or seems just not right.
- You can correct an AI that makes a mistake. - It will take your corrections seriously.

2. Remember that safety is on you
- No Personal Data: Don't share personal information like social security numbers, bank details, or passwords in a conversation with an AI.
- Use on Public Computers? Yes! As long as you remember to log out AND close ChatGPT/Ima before you leave. If you leave it open and/or do not log out, the next person will be able to see your conversation.
- Beware of Scams: If a conversational AI (or ANY AI) ever asks for personal or financial details, it’s a red flag!

3. Remember that not all AI is good AI
- Safe AI (like ChatGPT) will clearly tell you who made it. Be cautious if an AI doesn’t say who created it.
- Safe AI (like ChatGPT) won’t encourage harm or spread hate. Be cautious if an AI tries to manipulate or pressure you.
- Safe AI (like ChatGPT) will always follow ethical rules. Be cautious if an AI gives answers that sound too good to be true (scams!).
